ICC and Jus Mundi
The partnership will give the public access to ICC Court awards that are publishable and related documents from January 2019. This will increase the transparency and strengthen the legitimacy of the awards.
Jus Mundi, an international law and arbitration research engine, thinks that information about international law and arbitration must be searchable worldwide thereby strengthening the use of global rules.
The ICC arbitral awards publishing consists of four steps. They are:
- Any party can object to the publication of awards at any time.
- Any personal data is made obscure via pseudonymization or anonymization where needed. Arbitrators’ names and places of law firms are not disclosed.
- After pseudonymization or anonymization, Jus Mundi digitalizes the award document and is endorsed by ICC.
- After final approval from the ICC Court, Jus Mundi releases the ICC award list or related ICC document to the public on an exclusive partnership website. Then viewers can search for the awards using Jus Mundi’s search engine.
The ICC Court will give an update around June on the awards list. This global access to the awards list will improve the international law rule and will help in enhancing open trade based on global rules.
