« Back to Glossary IndexInjunction
An injunction is a court order that requires a party to either perform or refrain from performing a specific action. In the UAE, injunctions are issued under civil and commercial laws to prevent intellectual property infringements, contractual breaches, or unfair competition. Dubai Courts, Abu Dhabi Courts, and DIFC/ADGM Courts can issue injunctions in urgent cases, particularly in trade disputes, construction claims, and shareholder conflicts. UAE courts also enforce international injunctions under bilateral agreements and treaties, such as those with the GCC countries and the Hague Convention.
