Arbitration-Related Court Proceedings

Representative Experience

• Represented a multinational construction consortium in a DIAC arbitration valued at over AED ___ million, addressing extensive delay and disruption claims arising from a major UAE infrastructure project
• Acted for a leading Europe-based provider of engineered heavy lifting and transportation solutions, serving as counsel in an ICC arbitration seated in the UAE involving significant claims for non-payment under a subcontract, as well as disputes relating to project delays and suspension following a site incident.
• Represented a UAE-based real estate developer in a DIAC arbitration concerning the termination of a design-and-build contract arising from disputed performance and delays under a large-scale development project
• Acted for a prominent Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (“EPC”) company based in the UAE, serving as lead counsel in an ICC arbitration seated in Paris involving a complex dispute concerning payments pursuant to the subcontracting and performance of Electro-Mechanical Works on a major project.
• Represented a party in an ICC arbitration under the Expedited Procedure concerning payments pursuant to the supply, engineering, commissioning, and manpower services, and defended the counterclaims for alleged defects, delays, and liquidated damages.
• Represented a client in a complex dispute arising from a contracting agreement involving civil works and electro-mechanical engineering for a prominent hospital project in the UAE. The dispute encompassed claims related to delays, variations, and performance issues, requiring detailed technical and contractual analysis. Our team provided strategic advocacy throughout the arbitration process, ensuring alignment with our client’s commercial objectives while effectively managing multi-disciplinary expert evidence and procedural complexities.

• Represented a client engaged in road marking contracting, road construction, and construction and demolition waste collection and transportation services, in a dispute concerning recovery of payments under a Settlement Agreement related to works performed for a major Power Plant project pursuant to various subcontract agreements
• Represented the client in enforcement and recognition proceedings before the DIFC Courts regarding a shareholders’ agreement dispute initially governed by DIFC-LCIA arbitration rules. The governing law was the Dubai laws of the UAE, and the enforcement related to arbitration awards administered under the DIFC-LCIA framework prior to its transition to DIAC.
• Represented our client in a construction dispute against a multinational main contractor, with arbitration proceedings administered by Arbitrate AD. Following the exchange of pleadings, we successfully resolved the dispute through an out-of-court mediation, securing a favourable outcome for the client.
