Xenophobia in Business Law
Xenophobia in business law refers to discriminatory policies or practices that limit foreign investment, trade, or employment based on nationality. The UAE actively promotes foreign direct investment (FDI) and international business partnerships, ensuring that foreign investors receive equal treatment in most industries. While some strategic sectors (e.g., defense, telecommunications) still require UAE national ownership, Cabinet Resolution No. 16 of 2020 expanded 100% foreign ownership rights in many mainland business activities, reducing regulatory barriers for foreign entrepreneurs.
