Lease Agreement

A lease agreement is a legal contract between a landlord and a tenant that outlines rental terms for residential, commercial, or industrial properties. In the UAE, lease agreements are regulated under Emirate-specific rental laws, such as Dubai Law No. 26 of 2007 on Rent Regulations and Abu Dhabi Law No. 4 of 2010 on Leasing Properties. Ejari (Dubai) and Tawtheeq (Abu Dhabi) registration systems ensure that rental contracts are legally binding and protect tenant rights. Disputes between landlords and tenants are settled by rental dispute settlement centers, with rent increases subject to RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority) guidelines.
