Free Zone
A free zone is a designated economic area in the UAE that allows 100% foreign ownership, tax benefits, and simplified business regulations. The UAE has over 40 free zones, including Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), each catering to specific industries such as technology, logistics, finance, and media. Free zone companies are governed by independent regulatory authorities and enjoy benefits like zero corporate tax, customs exemptions, and full profit repatriation. However, free zone companies are generally restricted from conducting direct business with the UAE mainland unless they establish a branch or appoint a local distributor.
