A tenancy contract is a legal agreement between a landlord and a tenant that governs the leasing of property. In the UAE, tenancy contracts must be registered with Ejari (Dubai), Tawtheeq (Abu Dhabi), or RERA (Sharjah) to be legally enforceable. The contract outlines rent amount, payment terms, maintenance responsibilities, and renewal/termination conditions. Disputes between landlords and tenants are handled by Rental Dispute Settlement Centers in each emirate, and rental price caps are regulated by RERA in Dubai to prevent excessive increases.
